1 Kings 12-14; Chronicles 17 – Rehoboam succeeds his father, Solomon, but squanders the chance to rule in righteousness. Eventually, Jeroboam of the northern tribes leads a rebellion and Israel is split in two. What do we learn from the failings of these two leaders? How can we improve as leaders? Jehoshaphat  later leads Judah in righteousness.

1 Kings 3-9 – Solomon succeeds his father, David, as king and follows the Lord. At first he rules in righteousness and constructs the temple, but then builds an even larger palace for himself. How do we build our own palaces? What can we learn from Solomon’s spiritual gifts?
