D&C Lesson 2: “Behold, I Am Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World”

The Doctrine and Covenants gives us a better understanding of Christ. In this lesson we will cover many scriptures that testify of the Savior and His divinity. How does the Doctrine and Covenants help you get a better understanding of the atonement? Eric Meldrum is with us.

New Testament Lesson 15: “I Am the Light of the World”

John 7-8 – Kurt Francom of LeadingLDS sits down to talk about the Feast of the Tabernacles and its significance, particularly how the Savior being the “Light of the World” was important language to the Jews. What do we learn from the way Christ dealt with the adulterous woman? How is Christ a light in your life?

New Testament Lesson 9: “Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God”

Matthew 6: Consider the lilies of the field! Jesus continues the Sermon on the Mount, discussing the importance of doing our service and worship “in secret,” laying up treasures in heaven instead of the earth, and the proper form of prayer. Jesus also teaches us to forgive others and to seek FIRST the kingdom of God. Al Doan joins us.

New Testament Lesson 5: “Born Again”

John 3, 4 – Jesus teaches Nicodemus that we must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. Why? Why does baptism matter? Why do ordinances matter? Jesus later visits the Samaritan woman at the well and teaches about living water, the way to find true life and salvation. What can we learn from the way Jesus taught? Al Doan is with us for the first time in a long time.

Old Testament Lesson 40: “Enlarge the Place of Thy Tent” (Isaiah 54-56; 63-65)

Isaiah 54-56; 63-65 – Ever wonder why Mormons have “stakes”? Isaiah is why. How do we not just enlarge out stakes, but also strengthen them? Sometimes too easily we focus on proclaiming the gospel but not perfecting the saints. How will Christ gather his children? What will change with the Millennium? Rachel Murdock is here and she’s awesome!

Old Testament Lesson 39: “How Beautiful upon the Mountains” (Isaiah 50-53; Mosiah 14-15)

Isaiah 50-53; Mosiah 14-15 – Erik Johnson joins us for a discussion on the messengers spoken of by Isaiah, as well as the countless prophecies regarding Christ’s atonement taught by Isaiah. These are some of our very favorite passages of scripture and there are tons of valuable insights if you take the time to read and ponder.

Old Testament Lesson 38: “Beside Me There Is No Saviour” (Isaiah 40-49)

Isaiah 40-49 – Why is it important to not just know of the Savior but to actually know Him? What bearing does that have on your relationship with Him and the gospel? How is Christ incomparable? Amazing scriptures here, and our local scriptorian, Al Doan, is here to help. No, seriously, Al knows Isaiah really well.
