This lesson is somewhat of an outlier in that while the Doctrine and Covenants certainly deals with the plan of salvation, this lesson goes into many other scriptures to talk about God’s plan for us, which is fitting since the plan is not restricted to what was revealed to Joseph Smith. Patricia Auxier joins us to talk about how knowing the doctrines of Heavenly Father’s plan is crucial to the growth of our faith and testimony.

1 Corinthians 11-14 – Paul instructs on a number of issues: familial relationships, the emblems of the sacrament, and spiritual gifts. How are husbands and wives intertwined with the Lord? Why are ordinances like the sacrament important? Do you know your spiritual gifts?
Matthew 15-17 – Jesus teaches about serving the Gentiles before the charge goes out to teach them the gospel. Peter testifies that Jesus is the Christ and the Lord discusses the rock upon which His church will be built. We discuss priesthood keys and authority. Christ is transfigured and Peter, James, and John receive the keys of the kingdom. Al Doan is with us
Matthew 5: David and Rachel Zobell join us to discuss the first chapter of the Sermon on the Mount. Why were the Beatitudes uttered first? What does it mean to be meek? How are we the salt of the earth and the light of the world? Picture yourself as a Jew in the meridian of time. Can you imagine receiving teaching that the Law of Moses was fulfilled?
John 3, 4 – Jesus teaches Nicodemus that we must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. Why? Why does baptism matter? Why do ordinances matter? Jesus later visits the Samaritan woman at the well and teaches about living water, the way to find true life and salvation. What can we learn from the way Jesus taught?
