3 Nephi 12-14—The Savior continues his ministry to the Nephites, teaching them the Beatitudes and announcing the law of Moses fulfilled. These are incredible chapters and the culmination of hundreds of years of Nephites prophecies. Our buddy Al Doan decided to hop in and join us for this episode.
Mosiah 18-24 – Alma teaches the baptismal covenant. Think about how radical a proposition it was for the people at the time – learning the importance of living with others not like them, mourning with them, and standing with them. Alma and Limhi’s people are both taken captive by the Lamanites, then delivered by the Lord.
Mosiah 1-3 – King Benjamin gives his great discourse. We focus on how Benjamin taught us to remember how indebted we are to our Father in Heaven, and how we can regularly express gratitude for our innumerable blessings. What do we learn from Benjamin’s reign? Bill Doolittle is with us.
2 Nephi 11-16 – Bill Doolittle joins us for a discussion on the fabled Isaiah chapters of 2 Nephi. Don’t stress Isaiah! We’ve got you covered.Nephi was actually kind enough to give us keys to understanding Isaiah, and we’ll break them down for you. Isaiah has great visions of the modern-day temple and the gathering of Israel, as well as prophecies regarding the atonement.
2 Nephi 3-5 – Who are the four men mentioned in 2 Nephi with the same name? Lehi teaches about Joseph’s visions. Nephi writes his lament but glories in God. The Nephites are commanded to separate from the Lamanites. Mackenna Rowley is with us.
Jesus completes his mortal ministry. Judas betrays him, the Sanhedrin goes forward with a show trial, Jesus is scourged, Pilate sentences Jesus to death, and Christ offers himself as a sacrifice for all mankind. Listen to this quick episode and get prepared for a powerful and important Gospel Doctrine lesson.
Matthew 18; Luke 10 – The Good Samaritan is amazing. What can we learn from it? We deep dive on this fabled parable. How do we become as little children and why do we throw around that terminology so much? The Savior discusses the parable of the unmerciful servant. How must we show mercy always? Erik Johnson is with us.
Daniel 1; 3; 6; Esther – Daniel and his friends refuse to eat Nebuchadnezzar’s food. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are cast into a furnace and spare by an angel. Daniel is thrown into the lion’s den for not worshiping Darius. Esther saves Israel from Haman. Tons of great stuff in this lesson with Patricia Auxier!
Ezekiel 18; 34-37 – How is a shepherd different from a sheepherder? What promises are given to Israel in the vision of the valley of bones? What unique understanding do we have of the stick of Judah and stick of Joseph due to modern-day revelation?
