Luke 18-19; John 11 – As Jesus nears the end of his final journey to Jerusalem, he teaches the parable of the unjust judge and the widow, as well as the parable of the pharisee and the publican. What do we learn about perseverance from these stories? Jesus also heals a blind man and stays with Zacchaeus. Lastly, Jesus performs one of the most incredible miracles of His ministry, raising Lazarus from the dead. Kurt Francom of LeadingLDS sits in with us to discuss!
John 9-10 – What do we learn from the healed blind man and the way he testified to others of his experience? How did the Pharisees punish him? How is Jesus the Good Shepherd, and what does that really mean? How are we shepherds? Patricia Doxey is back with us.
John 5, 6 – In an incredible lesson, we discuss Jesus’ numerous healings on the Sabbath, the feeding of the 5,000, and Peter walking to Christ on the Sea of Galilee. These are all faith-promoting stories, but there are also more minute lessons to learn from the various vignettes. Patricia Doxey is with us.
Mark 1-5 – Why did Jesus perform miracles? How did they instruct the people and testify of his divinity? We discuss many miracles, including casting out devils (Legion), raising Jairus’ daughter from the dead, healing the woman with a condition of blood, healing and forgiving a man with palsy, calming the seas, and others. Bill Doolittle is back.
1 Kings 17-19 – Elijah seals the heavens against rain. After two years of famine, Elijah asks the widow of Zarephath to prepare food and water for him. He challenges the priests of Baal and Jezebel to call down fire from heaven. Elijah mocks the weakness of the false priests. Bill Doolittle is back!
Moroni 7-10 – Moroni closes the Book of Mormon explaining the value of good judgment, of coming unto Christ, and of expecting miracles. The baptism of infants is decried. We are all challenged to ponder the words in the Book of Mormon and prayerfully consider their truthfulness. Will you take the challenge?
Mormon 7-9 – Mormon counsels those in our day to believe in Christ and be baptized. The Book of Mormon will come forth in a great day of wickedness. God is a God of miracles. Believe in him. How can we apply scriptural counsel into our modern lives?
