Alma 32-34—Alma gives his great treatise on faith and the nurturing of testimony. How can we “experiment” on the word of God? How can the word of God take root in our hearts? Frankly, there’s more material here than one lesson can handle, and for our part, far more material than we can discuss in a quick podcast. Still, amazing stuff!
Alma 32-34 – Faith! Alma teaches the Zoramites the value of humility and faith. He uses the example of a seed to demonstrate how faith is to be centered around Christ and the Atonement, how it is individual, and how it will grow when nurtured and die when ignored. Amulek similarly testifies, teaching the proper way to pray and demonstrate faith in the Atonement.
Mosiah 4-5 – How can we seek a “mighty change” of heart that comes through exercising faith in Jesus Christ? How did King Benjamin’s people do it? King Benjamin encourages the people to seek a remission of their sins; he teaches how to live Christlike lives. What obligation to parents have to their children?
2 Nephi 3-5: The Book of Mormon testifies of the restoration of the Gospel through many Josephs; Lehi dies after concluding his counsel to his children; Nephi separates his people from Laman and Lemuel.
