Matthew 15-17 – Jesus teaches about serving the Gentiles before the charge goes out to teach them the gospel. Peter testifies that Jesus is the Christ and the Lord discusses the rock upon which His church will be built. We discuss priesthood keys and authority. Christ is transfigured and Peter, James, and John receive the keys of the kingdom. Al Doan is with us
John 5, 6 – In an incredible lesson, we discuss Jesus’ numerous healings on the Sabbath, the feeding of the 5,000, and Peter walking to Christ on the Sea of Galilee. These are all faith-promoting stories, but there are also more minute lessons to learn from the various vignettes. Patricia Doxey is with us.
Matt 13 – Why did Jesus speak in parables and how could a learned ruling class not understand these parables? This lesson focuses on parables, in general, with particular emphasis on the Parable of the Sower. We also talk about many of the parables found in this chapter of Matthew. Kurt Francom of LeadingLDS joins us.
Matt 11, 12; Luke 7 – What does it mean to take upon ourselves the yoke of Christ? How does he make it light? Why does Christ defend breaking with Jewish custom when it comes to performing holy work on the Sabbath? How does he defend his disciples against the Pharisees for picking the chaff on the Sabbath?
