Alma 36-39 – Alma teaches his sons, Helaman, Shiblon, and Corianton, about the importance of being humble. Corianton receives counsel and guidance regarding his sins. The Atonement is explained. The power of repentance is real. How can we learn from all of Alma’s sons so that we may be stronger, more faithful people?
Alma 32-34 – Faith! Alma teaches the Zoramites the value of humility and faith. He uses the example of a seed to demonstrate how faith is to be centered around Christ and the Atonement, how it is individual, and how it will grow when nurtured and die when ignored. Amulek similarly testifies, teaching the proper way to pray and demonstrate faith in the Atonement.
Alma 30-31 – Korihor, an anti-Christ, leads the people astray. He challenges Alma on the very existence of God and need for an Atonement. How can we learn to recognize and refute false teachings? Alma leads a mission to the apostate Zoramites, demonstrating compassion in the face of unfortunate circumstances.
Alma 23-29 – Thousands of those converted through the Sons of Mosiah change their name to the Anti-Nephi-Lehies, bury their weapons of war, and seek shelter and inclusion with the Nephite people. How can we bury our “weapons of war”? Why is it so important to be converted through Christ and not other means? How do we continually give thanks to God?
